How do l plant apple trees properly??

I have four apple trees l wish to plant near each other in the shape of a box, near the house. 2 Arkansas black with 2 golden delicious. Am told the is a great combination. I want to make sure they pollinate each other.

The canopy of the tree? The roots are generally 3 times bigger. Plant as if the tree is fully mature to give the roots space to grow properly.
