Wintering over a Mandevilla plaint in Minnesota?
I live in Minnesota and have a large Mandevilla hanging plant that was outside in direct sunlight all summer. Now that it is becoming fridged again, I brought the plant inside for the Winer. Am I wasting my time.......or will it survive inside for 6 months? Not sure how to Winter it?
It is too beautiful and heart breaking to just let go!!

Couldn't hurt to try! Is there a space in an inside room on the same side of the house to store it? Give it a good spritz of insect spray (no need to bring in pests!) first and the remove any old leaves. Give it good look over for dead branches. You could also give a branch trim. Find a nice stand or table top and a saucer large enough to catch the run off water. It should keep well until spring time.
Sounds like you will be able to care for your plant inside over the winter! Wish I could bring all of my inside but there's too many! Here is some info regarding how to bring your plant inside and care for it: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/vines/mandevilla/winterizing-mandevillas.html
If it was in direct sunlight all summer, what sun we had this year, You may need to use a plant light to keep it healthier. I bring in my hibiscus, pothos (rooted cuttings from original plant), spider plants, etc. for the winter. I have very little direct sun around the house due to very large mature trees, so my plants are for part to little sun and I use a daylight bulb on them as a full strength grow light would be too much for them. Believe it or not, my hibiscus did not like a lot of afternoon sun and did much better with later afternoon and evening sun exposure. I hope this helps you keep your plant healthy so that you can put it back outside next spring!
Thank you for your information.
