Salvaged chest of drawers ?
I salvaged a chest of drawers and it is made of a pressed board with a slick finish on it. how Would I prepare the finish to make a matte paint adhere to the finish?

Need to clean the wood. I have no idea. I do know anything with wax is bad..HELP!
Deglosser may be the way to go. You can "sand" with fine steel wool.
Then clean with TSP or denature alcohol.
I suggest sanding and
riming so your top finish will stick.
