How to hide cables and cords?
I have a corner shelf in my living room where all of my components are. Then a window, then my fireplace where my tv is. I currently have cables running across my window up to my tv and it looks horrible! I have gotten estimates on professional wiring and it’s not cost effective at this time. So I’m trying to find a way to hide them. I am considering a plank wall and hiding cords behind the planks. My main concern is getting to the cords as I need to replace components. I need suggestions!

Suggestions for Large and deep Alcove/niche in living room ?
Need help with how to decorate around a tv in this space. It's a deep Alcove next to the fireplace that goes from the floor to the ceiling!
I have seen people paint the cables the same color as the wall so they blend in. Command makes what they call cord clips. They are clear adhesive clips that you can mount anywhere and come off cleanly. That way you can run the wires along your baseboard and keep them off the floor and off the walls.
Can you run the cables through plastic plumbing pipe? You could spray the pipe a color that matches your window frame color or decorate it in another color. Make sure you get a diameter large enough for all the cables to fit through.
We have had this issue with the cable wire! How frustrating! They do sell wire covers (at store like Home Depot or Lowes) that you can attach to your wall or baseboard (usually in white, but you can spray paint them), but I cant remember the name of them.
OR.. Check to see if any of your components can be connected wirelessly. Things are changing all the time, so you never know. ;-)
Quick and easy way...paint your cords the same color as your wall !
it works pretty well. I had the same situation years ago when I lived in an apartment, that is what I did .
Chord covers are now available in different materials- rubber, plastic, and wood-look.
The cords go across the WINDOW! There is no amount of painting it that’s going to make that disappear. All of these ideas would be great if they were on the floor. The shelf the components are on is on one side of the window and the tv is over my fireplace on the other side. My options as I see them are to completely rearrange everything to accommodate a tv elsewhere, or to somehow do something to the wall to be able to hide the cords. I’m leaning towards a plank wall, but want to be able to access the cords if needed....
