Do you use the outside water in the winter? If not, then I would suggest that you turn the water off from the outside and drain the hoses.
Unattach the hoses, drain them of water and store in a garage or shed. I usually store them on a reel to prevent kinks.
We have outside water faucet. .we drain hoses and if the water faucet is connected to your house you can buy a faucet cover at home depot or Lowe .the one in ground is a frost proof faucet. .we don't have to do anything to it .the one connected to house had to shut water off in crawl space under house. .
