Sounds like the nails that hold the plaster board to the ceiling joists have loosened, is that right?
if so, push the bowed part back into place and then reattach that area with Sheetrock screws. When you push the ceiling back into place the loose nails will probably stick out. That will show you where the joists are, that’s where you put the screws. You will have to plaster the holes and repaint, most likely.
