Nightstand Gets a Facelift
Checkout how I took an old nightstand and updated it with a little chalk paint and scrapbooking paper.

It was a drabby-old nightstand that was given to me by the previous homeowners. (Actually a set which I used the dresser for my island)
I cleaned and removed the hardware for easier painting. I mixed up some chalk paint using a white latex and mixing it with plaster of Paris. I gave it two coats! Sanded some areas to expose the dark wood underneath and applied sealing wax by hand.
I then decoupaged some vintage looking scrapbook paper on the outside panels of each drawer. You can mix Elmers glue with a bit of water and make your own Mod Podge and it's way cheaper. Just spread it on the paper and on the surface you will adhere it to. Apply and smooth out any bubbles. Allow to dry for a few minutes and voila!!
I replaced the original hardware back on it.
And here you have the final look.
I love it and it was a budget friendly change. Now it looks slightly shabby chic- vintage and a whole lot prettier than before. Fun and easy DIY!

I love it. Very nice dresser great job. I had a similar project not to long ago. For me restoring old wood is a passion. I restored a 500 year old house to original wood when I was a kid that’s when I fell in love with wood.
