Probably best thing to do is go vertical if you can. Arrange shelving or cabinets as high as possible and organize with baskets or bins.
Are you keeping it for laundry to use for family game room or craft room or office or a room just for you like the men do a she room.
We have a really small laundry closet, and I went vertical with shelving, built a door-mounted drying rack, and a little ironing stand. It's been working out well for us!
I would add rolling storage units so they can be moved around so they aren't in your way
