Hanging a heavy mirror on masonry wall?

Refinishing my fireplace & planning on hanging my heavy 42” real Art Deco mirror & which option do you pick, given the mortar is 50+ years old & I easily pulled out the old masonry nails:
1.) Drill the mortar, epoxy in a large molly and then screw in a large screw.
2.) Drill the brick with a ceramic drill bit and use a bit smaller epoxied molly & screw.
Either way, I’m going to have to buy a ceramic-cutting caliber of drill bit and corresponding molly & screw.

Just a girl answering, but would a "french cleet" hanging procedure work? If unfamiliar, the internet will gladly explain. Hopefully, someone with more experience can speak to this. In our home, i have the ideas and my husband tells me whether or not it will work.

Thanks. Since I have bricks, not studs, Article 1 is NA.
Article 2 is how to be a decorator & that’s NA.

Article 4 more decorating. I’ve 30+ years plus degrees in architecture & design & the location of the mirror will be balanced with other pieces & considers the heat/smoke damage caused by fireplaces.
Article 5 more wood studs, NA.
I would drill the brick, not the mortar.
Given the weight of the mirror, additional supports/heavy gauge picture wire would be recommended to equalize the weight across the mirror's width rather than relying on a single anchor, if you can do that.
