Hi Susan,
Those are usually pretty easy to find on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Then you can paint or upholster it to your taste. Happy hunting!
You can build one out of pallets. Here is just one example that gives you step-by-step instructions. You can get free pallets from companies everywhere...just check some place like Craig’s List.

Double thick foam core board, stagger, hot melt glue & tape the joints.
Then upholster the front & wrap the edges like wrapping a present and hot melt glue the upholstery on the back.
Velcro the back.
The upholstery should be light and can be a sheet that matches your bedspread, wall paper or high quality wrapping paper.
It will not take having pillows leaned up against it, while reading in bed, so hang it a little higher.
You can also paint a headboard, to compliment your comforter/bedspread. Use painters tape, paint borders, make stencils and use a textured paint roller for different effects.
You can always re-paint the wall Apartment White when you leave. Most people touch up their walls when they leave, to avoid losing their deposit.
