How do I get my mobile home ceiling fixed?
The roofers put on a new roof and cracked the 12 foot ceiling “tiles”. They said they think they can fix it because they cannot be replaced. They suggest cutting the ceiling, putting in new plywood and then put a textures goop over it, then paint. Any other suggestions?

The strips hide the seams and hold the panels up. You can get FRP fiberglass reinforced panels. Which have a texture. Remove the strips and the panel comes down. Or replace with drywall, apply a texture. prime and paint. Another option would be to screw the panel back up. Drywall fiberglass seam tape over the crack and use drywall compound to add the texture, feather it out, prime and paint.
Follow your instincts(your questioning them???right)Don't let them do it.Especially since it does not sound like they know what they are doing??"they think" yikes.I'd be very upset about this.Get some one who works only on mobile homes not roofers for something like this or anything structural. I would also see that they cover expenses since they damaged it. Hopefully they are bonded &/or licensed. Call your home owners insurance too & they will have roofers pay for it.Worse case scenario tell them you'll take them to small claims court if they don't cover expenses(including several estimates) of getting someone else to fix it the correct way.The plywood is way too heavy for mobile home structure along with "goop" on it. Mobile homes have lightweight ceilings for a reason https://www.mobilehomerepair.com/mobile-home-ceiling-panels-replacement-repair-rebuild/ Call mobile home sales in your area for recommendations on repair companies. Get several. You only have one home and it needs to be safe, dry, and last.
Hi. Check with a mobile trailer parts place before you let the roofers make the fix. I'll bet these panels can be ordered.
I too had this same issue with my living room ceiling. (Long tearful experience for me.) For you it may be an easy fix. With assistance, push up the area and secure it using several screws with small washers that can be painted over to match the ceiling. Wishing you the best.
The guys here are doing a bang up job better then expected. They are having a specialist coming in to mud and another to texturize and paint. Cannot say enough SO FAR on their work ethic. Bedroom pictures of repairs where there were no cracks but they rely there was sagging
Push up the area with support and secure it with multiple screws with tiny washers that can be painted over to match the ceiling.
