We did ours in the fall before it got cold, once. It is not worth the expense or the time it takes to do it. It didn't last very long.
The best time is when the temperatures in your area are above 65 degrees consistently and there's no chance of rain, so late spring or summertime
If you have a tar driveway it should be sealed in the spring, summer or fall.
Concrete driveway? Or asphalt? Where I live, driveways are predominantly concrete. No one seals (or paints), them as it is too darn hot and it peels. Staining of the preferred method as it just fades over time.
