How do I get the musty smell off of my artificial Christmas tree?
We have let it air outside on our front porch in the fresh air for a few days, pressure washed it and let it air dry again. Still smells really musty. It has been in storage for two years, but is a big (and was pricey) pretty tree. Help! Thank you and have a BLESSED CHRISTmas celebration!

What can I do to remove the old house smell from my 100 year old house
I’ve tried everything, cleaning thoroughly, fabreeze. Mr clean, etc
Try spraying with Fabreeze fabric spray. Then after a few days spray with a Christmas tree scent.. If doesn't work you could try what we do for musty carpet . Wrap up in large plastic with kitty litter . Let sit for a week, open up and hose or dust off. Hope it works.
Items in storage take on a musty smell due to lack of sufficient air circulation and/or moisture in the air. When it is time to store the tree away again after this season, I would recommend putting an anti-damp product in with the tree.
Hi Judy. I'm Cindy. Put the tree in a large bag and put 2 - 3 pounds of charcoal in the bag with it. Then sprinkle baking soda in the bag too. Close the bag and let it set for a couple days. After that open the bag and throw the charcoal away. Vacuum up the baking soda. If the smell persists, repeat this process. Good luck Judy and Happy Holidays.
Charcoal is great as an odor eliminator. Just make sure you don't use the kind that has lighter fluid in it. I cheated and bought some bags with charcoal inside them from Amazon. They worked great and removed a nasty smell from a vehicle that detailing couldn't remove.
