How late in the year can I plant wild flower seed?
I have bought a bunch of wild flower seed that was supposed to be planted in the Fall, but it has suddenly gotten cold here is NW Arkansas. Can I still plant this seed even though it is frequently below freezing at night? Any tips for planting in a large field?

Giant Hibiscus: Curious that when a flower opens, then closes/dies, can you use it for seeds to germinate to grow new plants?
HI Terri. It should be fine to plant them now. I live in WI and it is a big benefit to even put them on the snow. Then when it melts it plants them in. Either way they will stay dormant until the soil warms up. Here is a link for you. They call this winter sowing. https://www.thespruce.com/what-is-winter-sowing-1403095
If the ground is near to, or frozen I would wait until spring. You might miss the early bloom but planting in cold or frozen ground will likely set you back in bloom time anyway.
Joe's Woods
I live in just west of Toronto, Ontario, I would plant seeds now if the ground is not frozen, if the ground is frozen you might want to plant the seeds in pots and water them, keep them indoors until the spring, it'll be a nice hobby to do over the winter.
