Sometimes ribbon is too slippery. I have used zip ties to secure the garland then prettied it up with the ribbons and bows.
Some people use pipe cleaners for tying their garland, others have used various colors of the zip ties. They come in all colors and can be found in large amounts at the home improvement stores. Either one would work. I would use jute string. You can get a large ball of it at the Dollar stores and it should last for several holidays at least. Hope this helps, Donna.
Because of the weight of the garland, I always use plastic wire ties to hold it in place. Then put your ribbon over it. It doesnt cause any damage and is easy to remove. Also it keeps the garland from sliding.😊
Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful :)
