How can I clean old drinking glasses and jars?
I found a lot of old glass ware, that are faded and not clear. Is there a way to bring them back to clear? They were found in an old barn and are about 70 to 80 yrs. old. I hand washed them in the sink, but still not clear. No pictures.

You can try soaking them in the sink with vinegar in your water.
Let they sit for a while in Boiling water in a Huge 4 gallon (Spaghetti Sauce) pot with some Rags at the bottom just like you were making preserves. You can put some dish soap in the water, but not much or it will look like Lawrence Welk Hour in your Kitchen if you overdo it on the Dish soap.
I have had great success just soaking overnight in the kitchen sink with dawn dish soap and vinegar.
I've used denture tablets. Fill with water, drop in the denture cleaning tablets and let them bubble up and soak for several hours. It may or may not work, depends on what is stuck on the glass.
