How to clean the jets in tub?
I purchased a home 2 years ago with a huge jetted garden tub. I have not ever used the jets and rarely use the tub because I will not fill the tub any higher than the bottom of the jets. When I first checked the jets the tub filled with nasty bubbles. I have tried running the jets with vinegar and water and vinegar, water and baking soda. Still nasty bubbles. I want badly to use my jets. If anyone has a solution on how to clean bathtub jets please help me. Thanks.

Any advice on how to clean bathtub jets?
Hi Elaine,
If the Bath is made of a Ceramic (Not Plastic or Acrylic) You could fill the bath with water to which you have added Vinegar and run the Jets for a while. Leave and then run them again. Wouldn't need hot water. Just time.......... Or maybe use a Decalcifier down the Jets if that doesn't work.
I fill my tub with water and then pour some bleach into the tub. I run the jets for a little while and then drain the tub and then fill the tub again with clean water and run the jets again. I have been doing this for 10 years and it has worked very good.
I do the same with dishwasher detergent
Hospitals (birthing centers) clean their whirlpool tubs by using dishwasher (not soap for washing dishes by hand - too many bubbles and dishwasher stuff has bleach in it). They drain tub, rinse with cold water (run jets briefly), drain, and then run with a couple tablets of dishwasher soap and warm water. Depending on how big your outdoor tub is, I’d use more soap. Then drain, run a rinse (with jets). Run a second rinse. If your tub still spews things from jets you might want to replace (or disassemble tubing) or at least to run with soap a few more times.
I use vinegar & water..1st I spray into the jets and then take Q tip and swipe around inside jet..I fill my jacuzzi tub up turn jets on & turn timer on for 15 minutes..if yuck comes out..I drain speay & swipe inside jets again and repeat filling tub up ...
To keep up after bathing I pour Vingar in bathwater & turn jets on..its tuff during drought I take showers instead only using tub because of back pain is really off the chart
