We used Polyuth. but its not a nice thick glossy look like we were expecting. What do we use?
I always recommend Bona Hardwood Cleaner to my customers as it cleans without damaging the polyurethane. Avoid any products that promise to restore your sheen as these will do that but they will also wear down the poly so that you need to refinish sooner. Those products have oils and waxes so they can also be slippery. So, just stick with hardwood cleaner. I use warm water & white vinegar...my floors look great after 50 years !
I absolutely love this hardwood floor cleaner!! It doesn't leave any film or residue at all. I've used it for years on both laminate and wood. Because it is alcohol based, it doesn't lift the grain like water can.
My mother uses Windex. It gives it the shine without the skating rink. ;)
I use Murphy’s Oil soap on my hardwood floors. I follow the directions on the bottle, and my floors come it beautiful and they are not slippery. Hope this helps.
