Looks narrow too
Hi Martha! I am assuming you are asking what you can do with your hallway. Hallways are always kind of perplexing on what you can do with them. I have several pictures up on mine from my husband's stay in Holland years ago. But if you have family pictures, those look great too. My best to you!

Take all bookcases and other out of the hall. Look for a pattern wallpaper or design your own painted finish that elongates the area. Colour is critical, you can get info from a wallpaper supply house about best patterns to incorporate. No pictures which close in a space, use mirrors, smallish, too large will pull walls in on you. Check out thrift shops, don't refinish vintage because the beauty of that is the flaws, the chips. No dark frames. We did our entrance way like that with vintage mirrors and it makes it look twice as large.
Hi Martha, I'd suggest placing a couple of mirrors on the walls on one side of the hallway. That might open it up and make it appear wide. Also, two to three throw rugs could be used to brak up the long floor area to look less lengthy.
Too narrow to have that bookcase in there. You need wall hugging ideas. Like oversized artwork or photo groupings. A nice mural on the wall would be nice to.
Hi, you can remove the bookshelves from the floors and do faux wainscoting with wallpaper or paint, and a narrow molding paint int he same tones as the wainscoting. Gray is always a nice choice as it is neutral and goes with many colors.
