DIY Fabric Covered Wall
I did this years ago - wash and iron your fabric or sheet (a sheet will have less seams than fabric as it is wider). Use liquid starch and saturate the material. Smooth it on the wall. I used push pins around the edges to hold it while it dried. Once dry, it will stick to the wall.
One way is to tack wooden carpet strips where the walls meet the ceiling and floor and use a staple gun to attach the fabric from floor to ceiling the same way you'd hang a sheet of wallpaper. If you have drywall you can staple fabric directly to the wall. I DON'T recommend that you do this on plaster walls.
