I found an article that addresses what rooms it can be put in and it might be helpful - http://www.bhg.com/home-improvement/walls/wallpapering/grasscloth-wallpaper/ - good luck
You can use it but I'd put a good coat of a sealer on it to prevent mildew from the humidity.
You would end up with Mouldy walls unless you seal it
I wouldn't advise it as (a) it is very expensive and (b) I'd be concerned about the humidity in the room.
I wonder why it would be different than regular wall paper? We had wall paper in our bathroom for years and it was no problem. I would never seal grass cloth as it has a texture.
I've used grass clothe for decades, and I wouldn't.... too much moisture, sealer would ruin the look.
Real grasscloth is not recommended for a mainly used bath and shower bathroom...for obvious reasons the moisture over time will create mold between the grass/paper cloth...You can use a wall paper with a printed grasscloth pattern, it still looks like it but it will be smooth and not have places for it to grow mold...search for wallpaper patterns of grasscloth online or in the wallpaper places, I am sure you will find something attractive to you.
