Can you put wallpaper on MDF board?
It would be paintable wall paper. Doesn't need to be durable for the project I have in mind. Thanks.
I would remove the cork so the wallpaper adheres correctly
tou can apply wallpaper to cork but the nature of cork will result in a short paper life.
wallpaper glue may hold longer
I think you could gesso the whole cork wall (paint, plaster, glue for this), but I think you had better get flat-edged shovels and scrape the cork off the wall. 😇
It might be hard to maintain, best is to remove the cork or covr it to make it more adhere-able- good luck :)
Cork is very porous and doesn't take well to glue or tack, I would remove it and then paper. Or it might be possible to prime it and paint it and then paper over it, but I would ask a pro about that. Wallpaper is mess to remove if it doesn't work out, so I'd want to be sure about it sticking well before I started.
You should really remove the cork for the best results.
You could prime the wall first with a good stain-blocking primer. This would encourage good adhesion of the wallpaper since cork is quite porous.
