I use my old tree to decorate outside. My old tree was one that each bough fit into a hole on the truck so I have been able to use each branch/bough individually. I tie the boughs along my deck railing with green twine and add more decoration and also in a garden wheelbarrow. You can use some of the smaller boughs to create window box decorations or planters. I have also cut off some of the "sprigs" and used them on craft projects!
Spray paint it, a totally different color! Ombré 𝙾𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎 and black, for Halloween, or white, grey, black, or any other fun color!

You could use the branches for that?
Pieces of old artificial trees can be put to very good use, 'filling in' gaps or holes in bushes or other outdoor greenery that you want to attach lights to.
You can save the top, which is usually one piece a couple of feet tall, and insert it in a pretty dish or planter to make a tiny tree for a table or your porch. A short string of battery operated lights (I found them at Target, they go on and off at a set time each night) would make it pretty at night.
