Kitchen, dining and living room is all basically one long room. How can I paint the walls to separate the rooms?

You could transition with shades of the same paint. Pick them off the same card.

    Define areas by decor.

You can put a screen or hang something to separate spaces.

How did u decide what wall to be the accent wall? This area is rectangle at livingroom end is a bay window the other end kitchen area short wall is cabinets and fridge, each long wall one has a sliding glass patio door going into a sunroom, on opposite long wall there is an entry door towards the bay window as you come towards the kitchen there is a bedroom door and a lit further down a hallway leading to utility room and front door. There is no dividing point to change colors to define each room, dining table is in between LR & Kit. And the kit. cabinets do not go to ceiling.

Starting with the kitchen, I'd paint above the cabinets and backsplash(or use tile, there). I would probably try to do an accent walls on as much surface area as possible. You can use chalk lines (gives a straight line to tape off) to set up where one room borders another. Artwork and decor can help to differentiate between the rooms. I hope that helps.

Open concept floor plans are great but tricky when painting and/or decorating. I used different materials to differentiate each area. For example, tile in the kitchen, paint in the lv.rm. wallpaper in dining area, etc., all in coordinating colors of course. And maybe use every door or window available as stopping points. Get creative and have fun! I'm sure it will be beautiful!
