How can I remove candle wax from a suede shoe?
My husband accidentally knocked over a candle that was on the ground and wax got all over his new shoes (just one).
I put paper towel on it and heat an iron, It usually transfers onto the other cloth.
Hi Peggy,
First use the back of a dull knife to scrape off as much as you can. Then do what Linda suggested. Use a fresh towel each time you use the iron so you don't transfer some of the wax from the towel. Wishing you the best.
Heat or ice.
Take a clean cloth or paper towel and iron with a warm iron and most of the wax will melt onto the cloth or towel. Wash in hot water and dish liquid to remove the residue.
Freeze it.
I've successfully removed wax from fabric by laying paper towels on both sides of the fabric, and then placing a hot iron on it. I had to replace the paper towels a few times as the wax melted into it. Finally I treated the spot with degreaser and washed it.
Hi Peggy. Use a old towel and a iron. Put the towel over the wax and then iron the towel in that area. It should pull it put and absorb into the towel. Good Luck!
