How to best use prismacolor pencils/markers?

This is more a tip I learned rather than a question. First I used colored pencils. Then highlighted and added shadow with markers. After it was done, I went back and used white and light color pencils to finish the look I wanted.
Neither are complete but the top has more color and is a Mic of colored pencil and marker. I use a lighter color marker over the pencil color.
Isn't this absolutely amazing?? I took a course in watercolour pencils. Loved it. If you want any more ideas, there's many on Pinterest.
