With good prep and the right paints-There are primers designed to work on the manufactured surfaces like Formica. Strip any grease and dirt off the cabinets with a good commercial cleaner. Sand the surfaces lightly with course sand paper just to provide a good surface for the primer. Use two coats of good latex, chalk or acrylic paint. Let the paint dry between the coats (24 hours at least is best) and sand lightly with medium grit sand paper. Seal with the gloss sealer of choice-two coats.
