Do you already own the oval tub, or just like that look? You can buy an oval tub, with a rectangular edge. You can also build a rectangular base, then fit the tub in, like you would a kitchen sink. Good Luck
We have that same shower! In our apt. The trouble is this stuff is often glued in w construction adhesive. It's a very big job, heavy and messy. See if you can find a tub about that size first.
You really need to measure your space to see if a tub will fit. Mobile Home Depot might have a tub that fits. They have stores throughout the country and I believe you can order on line too. That is where we got our shower enclosure because manufactured homes tend to be a little narrower so they require other than standard tubs and showers.
Typically they have the same measurements. I would start there, as this is not an easy task
No, that's why we would "Hire this one out"! 😁
I have been house-hunting and wondered the same thing, since the only place so far that really fills the bill otherwise had recently converted tub to shower, and I want a soaker tub/shower combo of some sort.
But the drain is now smack in the middle, like this one, and the tubs all seem to have their drains on the faucet end.
What about relocating the drain --- or is there some by-pass option?

Major plumming issues are best left to professionals as once stuff gets removed there may be a variety of issues to deal w, the drain, a leak etc! It will be heavy!
There's not a lot of mystery here. When you remove the shower surround, you will have three walls. A tub can be placed in the same spot as long as the length and width fit. An oval tub has to be framed in before setting it. The framing fills in the dead space of the corners and supports the tub.
Thanks everyone! 🛀
