You can strip it and restain it in a different stain darker or lighter, or you can paint it. Put different hardware on it to change the look up on it.
Paint is the easiest and cheapest.

You could paint it! It is the easiest and probably least expensive thing to do. After painting, you could replace the hardware, another inexpensive update!
