Oh boy, these large palms are Waaaay too close to the house. If you don't cut them down now, and dig out the roots, it is just an invitation for trouble with insects, dampness, and possible foundation damage from the roots.
In my opinion, these unpruned plants are not attractive, and do nothing to enhance the appearance of the wall. If you have your heart set on growing something here, then I would recommend choosing smaller plants contained in large pretty pots or raised bed planters.

Im with flipturn on this maybe rock the flower bed and space some colorful cacti plants out with an aloe plant or two for a little height here and there..
