I painted one that had little rust spots and had yellowed. The one I painted was textured so I didn't have to worry about brush/roller marks. You need to clean, remove any brand logos, sand, and prime before you paint. I used oilbased primer and oil based Rustoleum with a small foam roller. I treated the rust with LocTite Extend. It was easy but I did take my time and spread the task out over several days. It has been about 5 years and it has held up very well. I painted the vinyl handles with plastic spray paint but that didn't hold up all that well. On the spots that had rusted, after treating the rust I used some appliance touch-up to build those spots up before the overall sanding.

Appliance paint! Did you want to go wild and crazy or just traditional to change the color?
Take outside or in garage and use appliance spray paint. Wash down first with TSP.

Prep work is critical and the instructions on the appliance paint may not fully cover just how clean and masked it should be.
