Can I paint the grates on my gas stove with high heat spray paint?

Kitchen range is not all that old (a little over a year) but the grates over the gas burners look worn and even rusty. They are cast iron - not porcelain coated. Wonder if painting them with high heat spray pain (I have seen it up to 2,000 degrees) used for car parts would be safe.

As the cooker is not that old, I would speak to the manufacturers or suppliers of the cooker first!
