How do I put laminated lock-flooring in a hole?
I tore out the flooring in order to remove, then replace the dishwasher. So I am left with a hole, maybe 6 feet long and two feet wide, parallel to the counter. How do I attack this?

Sue,
Replace the boards in the opposite order you removed them, or if you are replacing with new boards, install them however that particular system locks together. Start with the edge furthest away from your dishwasher. In order to get the dishwasher out, you would have had to remove the toe kick trim below the cabinets or there wasn't any in front of the dishwasher to begin with. The last row of flooring to go in closest to the cabinet bases may need to be trimmed to fit. You can tell by the old boards if it was trimmed. After you trim it , that edge will obviously not have anything to lock into. Just face nail that edge of the flooring to your subflooring. If you have a toe kick piece, it will cover the trimmed edge of the flooring. If not, you could add a pice of trim to dress it up.
