I usually wait 24 hours.
After checking if the paint is dry to the touch, I wait at least one hour than apply wax.
Rustoleum chalk paint top coat is more durable than wax. You just brush it on.
Add the wax once the chalk paint is dry. From personal experience it takes a while to cure to a durable surface.
