Sheila: I've had pretty good luck with inexpensive rug pads like these:
https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Grip-Original-Available-Protection/dp/B0108J65M4/ref=sr_1_4?s=furniture&ie=UTF8&qid=1547220523&sr=1-4&keywords=rug+pad
I think the weight of the bed is causing the bunching because the rug sinks into the carpet pile indention. Try offsetting the indentation by placing a piece of tile, wood blocks, or even several thicknesses of cardboard between the carpet and rug under the bed end pieces. That should fill the carpet pile indention so your rug will lay evenly and smoothly on the carpet and not crawl.
Sheila,. You can buy something that's like double-faced tape. It will stick to the carpet asnd to the floor, without ruining the floor. Call a fllooring company, or Home Depot's carpet department. Aloha!
I heard the pads from RugPadUSA.com are good
