Hello John! What makes you think you brand new walker isn't working for you?
You don't mention John where you purchased the walker. Perhaps you can call them with questions. I don't think your walker should be making noise nor should you be be fearful that it may collapse. If you go to physical therapy perhaps the therapists can help you figure it out--they usually go above and beyond to get things right for their patients. Maybe you have some sand or gravel in the wheel area or a spray of WD40 on the wheels might help but that is only a guess. I wish I could tell you more about walkers but every walker I have ever encountered has worked effortlessly with no noise.
For now, I send my thanks to the persons attempting to settle my hesitancies for future failures brought about by metal to metal failures. Right now, it works for my present needs. Tomorrow plus the unknown X will be different. Onward to the seller's site seeking a fefund.
