Paint. Fill grooves with drywall patching compound. Prime with Kilz primer then paint.

My name is Linda and I agree with William. First pick up some nonshrinking drywall putty. Fill in the grooves and sand them smooth after it dries, then prime with a product like Kilz. At that point you can paint them any color your like. Wishing you the best.
