How to fill a gap between door and sub floor?

My son in law and I recently put a new sliding patio door. The door was a little different size. This left a gap between the door and sub floor that is 2 inches deep and 2 inches wide and runs the 72 inch door width. What would be the best product to fill this gap. I am planning on using floor leveler. Going to rip up the carpet and put down laminate. Thanks in advance.

A phot would help. The bottom track for the door should have been attached to the subfloor and a filler strip of wood on top to take up the space. At this point use a wood filler strip on the bottom. Make sure that it is sealed and waterproofed.

Can you slide in a 2x2 piece of wood, the length of the door & screw it down? Then fill with expandable foam. Filling the gap would have been easier to fix prior to putting the door in place.

    Jim,

Use pressure treated wood for the filler strip. You may also want to use a piece of aluminum flashing or waterproof membrane to insure water does not run back up under the door frame.
