Hi Kimberly, I have shaker style and I am redoing mine right now. Mine are so old that there is no shine left on them to sand off. I painted the inside one color and then I am using the wall color to do the outside. I mixed the paint with half polycrylic just to give it a shade of the colors on the wall. It kind of looks like a light stain in the same color. The countertop is done in black cream and a rust color so I did the inside in black and the outside with my half and half mixture. It is looking so good. Paint is always an easy choice because it comes in so many colors.
