How to paint an indoor window shutter?

I purchased a couple of indoor window shutters in a dark brown/stain. I have now changed my mind and would like them white. Not sure of the process and type of paint to use but don’t want to mess them up either as they were expensive.

If these shutters are the type with slats, spray paint is the easiest. That said, you may also need to prime over the stain first or use a paint that includes primer. You can paint them with a brush, but it is tough to get all of you brush strokes going in the same direction.

I agree with V Smith that it should be sprayed and probably primered first. You could use I latex enamel high gloss paint and use an hvlp. Or use an acrylic in the hvlp. That's what I would use

Definately spray. I would just use spray paint.

Thank you! Should they be sanded first?

Just lightly sand with 100 grit sandpaper to remove any shine. Rustoluem spray primer and Rustoleum 2X spray paint.
