It's probably a water pressure issue.
I bought a new kitchen faucet and had same problem so yes it is a water pressure problem. So I took one of the aerators out of the main faucet and it stopped, which I have 76 lbs of water pressure coming into house and if you are near 80 it can cause problems with other plumbing in your home such as leaking washers. Did nothing to the sprayer.
Sounds like a water pressure issue... possibly take t the aerator..
