How do I frame a large mirror held on with 1" x 3/4" clips?
The bathroom mirror is 6' x 4', about 30 yrs old and anchored to the wall with 8 clear plastic clips. All the beautiful frames I've seen on Hometalk sit flush on the glass but I cannot do that with the clips in the way.

Check out this tutorial on how to frame a mirror and get around those clips: https://southernhospitalityblog.com/framing-those-boring-mirrors/
Styrofoam trim can be cut out to accommodate the clips. I would, personally, not attempt to unclip a mirror. When I get ready, I will use styrofoam mouldings and paint.
You can also use a chisel to chisel out (on the back of the DIY frame) where the clips are: https://createandbabble.com/how-to-frame-mirror-clips-five-easy-steps/
I have the same issue ! I saw that some one posted that they made a frame , then they bought command hook brand Velcro hanging strips and put the strips right onto the mirror and onto the back of the frame !!! Sounds like a great idea , that I want to try . What I was thinking was to get from the dollar store , they sell a sheet of sticky backed felt for the bottom s of chairs. They have a whole wheat and long strips. I can put the Velcro strip on top of the felt and stick the felt circles next to all the plastic clips , that way the frame can hang flat and the clips won't be an issue.
