If Patty! Usually, in a bathroom sink, hair gets caught in the drain and gunk gets caught on the hair. Happens in the shower too. You will need a hair grabber, which is a long, skinny piece of plastic with barbs on it. After removing the hair, you can usually get the drain to unclog. I like vinegar and baking soda. Cover the opening of the drain with about a quarter of a cup of baking soda and then pour vinegar over it until all the baking soda dissolves, as it bubbles like crazy. Follow-up with hot water until the drain is working. If that doesn't work, I prefer the gel Draino.
Pour some baking soda down the drain. Then pour some vinegar down. Immediately cover the drain with a cloth and press down. The force of the bubbling should push the clog through.
