vinegar should remove. You can soak paper towels or rags with white vinegar and let soak to dissolve the build up.
CLR. Calcium lime and rust. It is available at nearly any Retail Hardware Store: Ace, Home Depot or Lowe's.
I agree with Kathy, vinegar should do the trick without using harsh chemicals. If it is pretty built up it take more than one soak to get through layers. I hope this works for you, Khicks4330!
Vinegar and an old toothbrush. I have also use a small brass brush. Brass will not scratch the metal or glass.
I have used CLR from the Dollar Store that works just as well the the brand. I use a hard tooth brush after spraying. Then I keep it clean with a spray bottle of Alcohol and water. I hate hard water build up and this seems to do the trick
