How can I dry my king-size bedding in my small dryer?

I have GE stacked front load washer and dryer made for smaller space. I am terribly disappointed with the dryer since we got it because everything takes so much longer than my old front load dryer. One issue that is maddening is when I dry my king size bed sheet sets. No matter what I’ve tried the dryer manages to make a taco out of it causing it to not dry properly. I have tried tennis balls in the cycle to no avail. Why? Has anyone en out eres this and what is solution.

Try putting less in the dryer and shake out the sheets befor you put them into the dryer to unwrap them.

I do, it still happens and I'm only putting in the flat, the fitted and 2 pillow cases....

  • There are a few things I have tried when drying my king sized sheets. When I first add them into the dryer, I also add a dry bath towel. The towel is large enough and dry to keep the sheets apart until they can get dry in the cycle. Another thing I have recently tried is woolite dryer balls (NOT the wool, the regular laundry balls). I add about 6 in and it has done a good job. The towel method has been the best so far though.

How about an extra "spin" while articles are still in the washing machine ? I do this to get every bit of the water out as possible before putting it in the dryer. Helps with the heavy towels a bunch!!

I have a German made washer/dryer set. My dryer's interior is much smaller than traditional. I dry the fitted sheet and top sheet separately. I know that sounds counter productive. Although they still tangle due to their size they dry quicker then when I combine them.

These type of appliances are not really made for large loads and heavy bedding

Sorry, they are suitable for apt and loft type living, but not for your type of use or major heavy loads of laundry Good Luck

My old ones handled it beautifully and the were stackable as well. I’m not talking about comforters or blankets, only sheets. I’m disappointed to say the least.

I've found that king-sized might be a bit much for that size dryer--how about one sheet and pillowcase in each load, with a dry towel--that does work well to speed up drying, as Alexis suggested.

Hi Ana. I'm Cindy. I think you have a couple choices. You could wash and dry each sheet individually. Or you could take them to a laundromat. They have machines that will wash and dry large loads. If you choose to go to the laundromat, take you comforters with you. Or any other large items. And, last but not least, wash the sheets and hang them to dry. Good luck Ana.

If you’re talking about your bedspread or comforter you’ll need to go to laundry mat that has big washers and dryers
