How to hide a tongue and trailer hitch decoratively?
I live in a 1960 single wide trailer w/the front tongue & hitch still attached. I laid a square piece of wood over the top, on top of that I laid an astro-turf carpet and placed large rocks at the hem to hide the bottom edge and the whole thing sits on a pea gravel base towards each side and in the middle. It's worked for me for the past 15 yrs. but I'm ready for a very easy change now as I'm 72 and have back problems.

Some craft/ hobby stores sell different size wooden crates, or grocer's have them from their veggies or fruits an throw them away, or a plastic milk crate. Just get a can of Krylon spray paint in a bright spring color, paint crate, set over top of hitch an place a nice plant on top. You may have to knock out one side of a crate or from two crates but whatever fits over. top of hitch. I live in the country & some neighbors have done this & even hung something above it like wind chimes. Just decorative, pretty, not much labor involved & no more ugly hitch an removable. Wish you luck.
Maybe a table of some kind? Shorten the legs? Something like that, to utilize it somehow. Maybe as a bench, a planter, without putting any weight on it.
