How do you bring a shine back to wood floors?
We have cherry wood flooring in our living room and dining room. The wood is solid with a factory applied poly topcoat. As the flooring is cherry wood, there are a few dings and scratches yet the rest is in very good condition. What should we do?

Maybe try stripping it then re-buffing! If that doesnāt work maybe add another layer of the poly topcoat, thatās sure to do it!
You can have it professionally 'screened'. That's not sanding into the wood, but instead it's just taking off a bit of the finish. Then they'll reapply a layer of finish.
I have not tried this one but it may work. When you dry mop your floor place a piece of wax paper on the mop to see if you can get some sheen back. Other than that, anything liquid will just add a coating to the floor and eventually build up making for a worse problem. Try damp mopping it to see if there is a film on the top of the area where you continually walk.
If it is just the shine that you want, try using a product called Rejuvenate. It is sold at Lowe's and Home Depot. It is a little pricey compared to most floor products. I use it on my 50 year old red oak solid hardwood floors. It really bring back the shine. It can be a bit slippery for a day or two so put down runners (after it dries) in heavy traffic areas or make sure to wear slip resistant footwear ( No socks for a few days). P.S. I saw the other day that Rejuvenate comes in a kit with a special mop. I will be buying the kit next time I buy it.
Thank you all so much for your helpful suggestions! Definitely will be fixing my problem soon.
One more (belated) vote for Rejuvenate. Also, if you don't want to do even that much, I think Bona products used regularly work well. I can't tell from the picture but from your verbal description it doesn't sound like more intense refinishing is needed at all.
I use dollar store liquid floor wax this brings the shine back to wood floors
I agree with Dsouther--Rejuvenate. Its great stuff. Easy to use and seems to last between applications. Its available at Walmart too but in a smaller container compared to Home Depot.
The poly coat the factory puts on is a polyester resin. Do not put poly on it as it can alligator and flake off. Floor wax will do the same. For the scracthes use Minwax Stain markers, Dab the marker on the sctach and blend with a finger. For the dings use Minwax Blend Fil pencils to fill them in. Use either Bona for laminate floors or Rejuvinate as others suggest.
If it is just those 2 small areas I would lightly sand it down, and then use a stain to match or come really close. Then use a wipe on poly in those areas and feather to blend.
