How can I or can I even paint old linoleum floor tiles?
Don't have the money to rip up and lay new flooring, but after moving in to this apt a year ago, looking at the floors each day drives me crazy! Was wondering it I could just paint them?

If you rent you have to get permission or you'll loose your deposit. Yes you can paint but it doesn't hold up.
Hi Lyn! I understand because I lived in places that I rented for years as well. The first thing you really need to do is ask the landlord if you can do this. They might even buy the paint for you or you could even offer to paint the floor for them with the idea of some $ off the rent. That is an idea. But be sure to check with the landlord because you don't want any problems. If they don't allow you to paint it you can always put down a large area rug to hide most of it. These are things I have done in the past. I just don't want you to put $ and hard work in a rental if you don't have too. I wish you the best!! I would love to hear what you do with the floor!
