What can I do with the wall above my bed?
Wall is empty, thought about putting up a shelf, however don't have the tools necessary to complete that, didn't want to just buy and hang a painting, would prefer to make something for my self for Valentine's.

Art wise, I have been very lucky to have found some of the best origional signed art at estate sales, consignment shops and thrift stores. Quite often to you can buy a framed piece for the glass, frame and mat and remove the art that doesnt impress you- put something new in it.
Framing and moreso custom framing is very expensive.
Some hang beautiful area rugs-there are lots of patterns to choose from.
You could do a wall design with tape and paint and coordinating colors. Here's some ideas for you! https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/skills-and-know-how/painting/how-to-paint-stripes-chevrons-blocks-and-more
You can buy a coat/robe hook, make sure the hook is big enough to hang fabric from, buy some sheer fabric or any fabric of your choice; (you can look for curtains or even sheets, at your local thrift stores and may even find those twinkle lights). Place the hook in the middle of the wall over the head of your bed, drape fabric from the hook to each side of your bed, maybe intertwine some twinkle lights within the fabric, that drapes on each side of your bed. Then happy St. Valentines day to you.
what about a wallpaper accent wall? There are so many options?
Hi Nmali,
How creative do you want to be? You could block out an area on your wall then create a painting. It doesn't have to be something anyone would recognize. I could be geometric shapes or paint splashes or even just paint in different colors blended with no special pattern, just in a way that looks good to you. When it's done, you could "frame" it with molding and it will look fabulous. Here's a link that has some ideas. Wishing you the best.
