My husband ran over my Cryepe Myrtle, it ripped off two branches now the tree is exposed. Does it need to coated with something or will it heal on its on?

Hi as long as the roots are covered it will heal on it's own. .I found out they are hard to kill .I dug up one and moved it. And another one popped up where I took the one out. .didn't get all the roots out. .dug some more and put in a flower pot. . I got small c Myrtle every where. .good luck on your tree .
Most plants have a natural instinct to heal on their own. If you are afraid of bugs or other getting into the branches, then you can coat with a light coat of latex paint.
